The Colette Macaron is a dress I’ve made a thousand times now. It’s one of my all time favourite sewing patterns because of how great the pattern and instructions are. It’s probably one of those patterns that’s really pushed me into the sewing world and made me really love creating my own clothes.

Pattern Information
Description: Macaron is a fun-to-sew, flattering, and curvy dress. It includes a bodice fitted with darts, along with a contrasting top yoke, sleeves, and a narrow midriff band.
Pattern: Colette Macaron Pattern
Fabric: Cotton Sateen and cotton lining

What did you like about this pattern?
This is a really beautiful dress and works in so many variations. I also love that it works with and without the centre band. The way the pattern pieces are broken up it makes it really easy to colour block or simply design it all in one colour like this version.
I also think this is one of the most comfortable fit dresses. I have reused the skirt part of this dress on a number of other dresses that I’ve made. It comes with pockets and sleeves which is seriously the best part of any dress. Especially if I want to wear them to work and hide my lipstick or security pass.

Did you make any alterations to the pattern?
No alterations to this design.
Would you recommend this pattern to others?
I really can’t fault this dress pattern and highly recommend to others. Check out the tag #colettemacaron to see how many beautiful version of this dress have been made on Instagram. Otherwise there will be many more version to come on my blog. I also really think this pattern is great for beginners and opens up the opportunity to work with different fabric types and layouts.
