About Honey Love Sewing

I’m Erin, and I have created this sewing and crafting blog. I live in the beautiful Sunshine State – Queensland, Australia and have been sewing as a hobby for over ten years now. In the past I have made mostly dresses, shirts and some skirts (the basics really), so I would call myself an intermediate sewer.

I have always worked in digital but sewing has been a great passion for mine, even working full time at a sewing and embroidery company for 3 years. I now work in Insurance but whatever time I have free I’m working on sewing projects, patterns or my blog.

If you follow along, I hope to provide you with ideas and inspiration on patterns, list my success or failures, post ideas for future projects and like always…  if I like a pattern I’ll create it a number of times! I also have a Charity sewing section of my site where I’m going to source out and find projects that anyone can sew along to and donate.

Some Fun Facts

  • My first sewing machine was a Janome 6260, which I still use from time-to-time. I now sew on a Brother NV1300.
  • My profession is in Digital. I’ve always loved being creative, starting out as a graphic designer and worked my way into managing websites.
  • I don’t have kids but I have always had pets. I currently have a ginger cat and a 2 year old whippet dog. I had two pugs for my entire adult life but unfortunately had to say goodbye to my 16 year old boy, Busta in 2025 and my 14 year old girl, Bella in 2023. You will likely see snippets of my pugs throughout my blogs, as they were my biggest companions when sewing. I would always have to shuffle my foot peddle over to avoid kicking them because they would sit so close to me when sewing.
  • I am massively into fitness. One of my easiest projects is cutting up shirts or making team fitness gear for competitions or events. I currently go to FitStop but have signed up to complete a 21k half marathon in July!
